ClassGraphic Whatever the fall semester brings, it won’t be boring.  Will the midterm elections be fair or undermined by changes in election rules?  What will be the effect of gerrymandering or the SCOTUS ruling on redistricting?  What other surprises does the Supreme Court have in store?  Will the war in Middle East wind down or end?  Will prices continue to climb? Will Trump’s slump in the polls continue?  Will congress wake from its deep slumber?  Which Senate races will be hot?  Will the Dems flip the House? The Senate?  Those are some questions we wil discuss along with so much more. We try to make sense of it all by providing a forum for discussion of news focusing on Washington and beyond, empowering OLLI members to understand different perspectives on the federal government and other areas of national concern. During each session we will focus on current news stories selected by the participants. This is a fast-paced study group. Participants are expected to be or become keen observers of national news through many different sources. Reading assignments and topics will be distributed in advance. All points of view are respectfully welcomed.
