Today, an estimated 50 million people are trapped in forms of modern slavery, from sex trafficking and child labor to the shadowy world of illicit organ trafficking. Jörmungandr: A Study in Global Human Trafficking and Abolitionist Strategy (Adam Zarnowsky, 2025), written by Adam Zarnowsky, reveals how these networks thrive not only through criminal systems, but through the political decisions, economic pressures, and environmental disruptions that shape our world. We will explore real stories, global patterns, and the emerging tools—including AI, activism, and international policy—that could reshape the future of abolition. If you’re curious, justice-minded, or simply fascinated by how global systems rise and fall, this study group will challenge your thinking and spark your imagination. By the end, you will not only understand how trafficking works today, but more importantly, how you can help to dismantle it tomorrow.
