Listening To Paul Simon

« back to classes page
ClassGraphic “The Sound of Silence,” “The Boxer,” “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” “Graceland.” If you were anywhere near a radio in the late twentieth century, you'd have heard these songs. They all sprang from the mind of one man, Paul Simon. In this study group, we will explore the music, lyrics, and cultural impact of Paul Simon, including his work with Simon & Garfunkel and his solo career. In class, we will watch documentaries and music videos. Participants will have the opportunity to research and analyze key songs to share with the class. Together we’ll appreciate the genius of one of the twentieth century's greatest poets and songwriters.
