Untangled: Making Sense of the News

« back to classes page
As an intelligent and curious person, are you looking for an unbiased, balanced, and thought-provoking source of daily news? If so, look no further – we think we have found it! It’s Tangle, a daily newsletter that covers, in depth, current political stories with social significance and thoughtful arguments from multiple perspectives, plus the editor’s relatively unbiased commentary and opinion at the end. Each week, the coordinators will choose what they believe are that week’s most relevant, timely, and interesting newsletter commentary, and email it to you 3 or 4 days prior to our weekly meeting. They will also email their objective, discussion-generating questions in time for our upcoming week’s session. Past newsletters have covered a wide variety of topics, including: the federal budget deficit, Supreme Court decisions, the war in Iran, Immigration, the Epstein files, Federal Reserve independence, gerrymandering, wealth tax proposals, and much, much more. We look forward to some mind-opening, challenging, and fun discussions. As always with OLLI members, civility and openness to new ideas are keys to a productive exchange.
