Engaging Across Differences: Strengthening Discussion Across Viewpoints
Differing viewpoints in an OLLI study group are especially valuable because each member brings a lifetime of distinct experiences that no book can replicate. Conversations like these often surface fresh perspectives on topics members have considered for decades.
Join fellow coordinators for a hands-on workshop offered by facilitators from Northwestern University’s Litowitz Center for Enlightened Disagreement. We’ll focus on creating study group environments where members feel comfortable sharing differing perspectives that enrich discussion. You’ll strengthen your listening skills, learn to notice what matters to members, and take away a couple of concrete strategies to encourage thoughtful contributions and guide productive exchanges across viewpoints.
