Foreign Affairs
« back to classes page
This study group is made up of fellow students who love to read and desire to learn about the countries of the world through their interactions with one another. We encourage and attract people who have inquisitive minds and are serious about learning and exchanging ideas. We take pride in being inclusive and not intimidating by conducting classes that are welcoming and tolerate a wide range of opinions that are documented and convincingly expressed. We start with material from
Foreign Affairs,
a bimonthly magazine published by the Council on Foreign Relations, but we do not stop there. Discussion leaders may supplement weekly readings with materials from think tanks (such as Brookings) mainstream periodicals (such as
The Economist, Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, The New York Times
) and topical books. The goal of this study group is to be interactive with a healthy exchange of ideas, while still being fun and rewarding. In doing so, we create our own “think tank” and try to resolve problems and world issues.
