This is a history deeply known and shared within the community itself — lived, remembered, and passed down — yet too often invisibly lived to those outside of it. Shorefront ensures these stories are safeguarded in the archive, celebrated through its programs, and made visible so they take their rightful place in the broader historical record.

This event highlights the resilience, achievements, and complexities of Black lives on the suburban North Shore, and affirms the power of archives and community memory to shape the future.
