Although our brains change as we age, severe cognitive decline isn’t inevitable. In fact, our brains remain adaptable throughout our life. Dr. Molly Mather, assistant professor and clinical neurophysiologist at the Meslum Center at Northwestern University, will discuss how our brains change as we age and share proven ways of maintaining a healthy brain over time. She will share the latest cutting-edge research on the neurobiological factors affecting how our brains age and how seniors can make changes in their lives to maintain brain health. She’ll also discuss key findings from the 25 years of research that Northwestern University has conducted on SuperAgers and the future direction of this research.

Speaker Dr. Molly Mather is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the neuropsychological assessment of dementia syndromes and other age-related cognitive disorders. Her research interests focus on characterizing neuropsychological trajectories of aging, ranging from dementia and neurodegenerative disease to exceptional cognitive aging (i.e., SuperAging). She is the co-director of the SuperAging Research Program at Northwestern University.
