ClassGraphic Ranked Choice Voting: What is it and does it work?
There is currently a bill pending in the Illinois legislature regarding Ranked Choice Voting (RCV), yet many Illinois citizens don’t know what it is, how it works, or whether it will enhance voting reform in Illinois. Several states and municipalities have already implemented RCV, some say with limited success while others say it has vastly improved election fairness. Which is correct? To help us sort this out, Gary Schotz will explain how RCV works and will highlight its pros and cons. Gary is a volunteer with FairVote Illinois and is Vice-Chair of the organization’s speaker’s bureau. Join us for what promises to be a lively presentation. This noontime lecture is sponsored by OLLI’s Academic Enrichment Committee in Chicago.
