Capturing Chicagoland Through Photography

This study group will combine virtual sessions and group outings to allow members to improve their photographic skills. Study group members are encouraged, though not required, to join other study group members to accomplish the assignments together. Photographic assignments will take advantage of outdoor experiences and feature different photographic techniques. Study group members are encouraged to identify areas where they wish to improve their photography skills. This study group is open to OLLI members of all skill levels. The requirements are a digital camera where the exposure can be adjusted (ideally with a manual exposure mode), a computer (PC or Mac), basic computer skills, and access to and basic knowledge of photographic editing software such as Photoshop, Lightroom, or Photoshop Elements. Our time will be split among image review, discussion of photographic techniques and post-processing methods, sharing of tips and tricks, discussion of upcoming field exercises, and study group member presentations. Study group members will be encouraged to present a favorite photographer, an interesting photographic technique, or an unusual place to photograph.
