Go
behind the scenes at Northwestern’s Wirtz Center Center for the Performing Arts to learn from and interact with artists (artistic directors, dramaturgs, creative designers, etc.) who are producing the upcoming production of
Indecent
.
Indecent
is a deeply moving play with music, inspired by the true events surrounding the controversial 1923 Broadway debut of Sholem Asch’s God of Vengeance — a play seen by some as a seminal work of Jewish culture and by others as an act of traitorous libel. Created by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel,
Indecent
charts the history of an incendiary drama and the path of the artists who risked their careers and lives to perform it. During this three-session academic immersion experience, members will learn about the play’s themes and controversies, preview and interact with the production’s scenic, costume, and lighting designs, and attend opening night which will include a private
talkback and tour. Parking not included
.
