Guest Speaker: Prof. Sanford Goldberg

From a philosophical point of view, what is the nature of "fake news"? What problems are presented to us as individuals or as a community? Why does fake news persist? And what is the proper response to it? Prof. Goldberg will lead us in a discussion of these questions using the tools of epistemology (the theory of knowledge).

Our Leading Edge lecture series is held at lunchtime or the end of the day on the Evanston campus. The series is free and open to all OLLI members.

Sanford Goldberg is Professor of Philosophy at Northwestern University, where he has taught for 12 years. Prior to that he taught for 8 years at the University of Kentucky and 4 years at Grinnell College.  HIs most recent book is entitled To the Best of Our Knowledge.
